My time at Burkhart is coming to an end. During my time here, I have gained a lot of experience and have learned a lot from this digital internship. When I first came across this internship, I was excited to apply as it was based out of Indiana, and joining a marketing agency was a big deal to me to understand how an agency works. Throughout the summer, I have gotten to work with multiple companies and have gained many new skills to add to my resume.

My Experience

My experience at Burkhart has been amazing. As an intern, I got to listen in on client meetings, business calls and work on work on transcriptions for some calls, as well. These calls helped me understand the questions to ask when beginning a rebrand for a company, how to keep a status plan with clients and more. 

Part of the reason why this internship was so great was because of the amazing communication between the entire team, and even though the internship was remote, I still felt connected to everyone at Burkhart, not just my supervisor. Burkhart is well planned and organized, and they make sure to make their interns a true part of the team.

With the internship being remote, I had to learn to be even more motivated. We used task tracking platforms to help us remain up to date with every project we worked on and had daily check-ins. I learned more about the different social media platforms and learned how important analytic reporting is to a business.

My Takeaways

My biggest takeaway from working with Burkhart is to keep advancing and improving my writing skills and my knowledge of all the different platforms we used. I dearly enjoyed my time with Burkhart and have learned a lot more about the marketing industry from an inside standpoint.

Creating blogs and social posts is something I’ve done before, but I had more creative freedom in creating my own topics and images. I was able to use the skills that I learned from Butler University by taking multiple marketing classes throughout my internship. This internship gave me a lot of hands-on experience and allowed me to apply my knowledge from my classes to my daily tasks. 

I appreciate my time during this internship and will my time here forever. I am really thankful for this opportunity this summer.
