Our interns work extremely hard to help with our day to day operations and make everything run a little smoother here at Burkhart. Are you ready to meet our second intern of the summer? We are so excited to introduce Olivia, an upcoming senior at the University of Indianapolis studying Visual Communication Design and Digital Photography.
She loves everything related to design and she took the time to tell us a little more about herself. Take some time to find out why she always wanted to be an artist and what her inspirations are.
-
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always wanted to be an artist in some capacity, I was always drawing all over everything as a kid and I practically lived in my high school art room. I got my first camera as a freshman in high school and I could never put it down, so combining my love of design and photography seemed like the best career I could ask for.
-
What drew you to/kept you in advertising? (How did you choose it?)
The abundance and evolution of creativity involved with advertising is what drew me to pursue a career in that field.
-
Who or what inspires you?
Someone who will always inspire me is my mother. She was a force of nature, but in the kindest way and was always the one who pushed me to be the best I can be. In a more broad sense, activism and the ability to create a movement rooted in change also inspires me, especially when I see individuals my age becoming the driving force.
-
What do you feel prepared you most for life after college?
I feel as though the time and effort put forth by my professors to give everyone in my department an experience tailored to that person is what prepared me the most.
-
What is a professional goal that you hope to accomplish in the next five years?
I want to work for a marketing agency and continue to push myself to become more fluent in the ever-changing world of design.
-
What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?
I treat my car like a personal concert stage, I am ALWAYS singing in the car!
-
What’s your favorite throwback jam?
Man! I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain is my go-to, that or anything by P!nk of course!
-
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
I would definitely be some kind of orange because I have a very vivid and loud personality.
-
Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
I think it would be fabulous to swap places with RuPaul Charles for a day; so much glitz and glam, not to mention his impeccable taste in patterned suits.
-
Who is your favorite superhero? Least favorite?
My favorite superhero has to be Black Panther because of the impact it had within the Marvel movies and my least favorite has to be Batman.
