As summer winds down, fall is starting back up and that means a new set of interns have joined the Burkhart Marketing team. We sat down with Emily McNally, a Senior at Butler University who is majoring in both Marketing and Spanish with a minor in Ethics.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I would master as many musical instruments as possible, just to impress people.

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

I’d be blissful blue. I try to remain calm in positive in every situation. Plus, blue is my favorite color!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was little, I wanted to be a singer. I would write my own songs and everything! While I may not have the musical gift to make it, my creativity and passion for writing has been very useful in the marketing field.

What drew you to/kept you in advertising? (How did you choose it?)

Advertising was like the cool aunt of business. I like being able to be creative and think outside the box to come up with solutions that have a measurable benefit to a company or organization.

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?

I’d love to swap places with Meghan Markle just to see if all the crazy rules the royals have to follow are true. Also, who wouldn’t want Prince Harry as their husband?

Who or what inspires you?

I’m most inspired by Katharine Graham, the first female CEO of a fortune 500 company.

What is your most-used emoji?

My most used emoji is the face laughing with tears.  It may be basic, but who doesn’t love a good laugh?

What do you feel prepared you most for life after college?

Experiences like this internship have prepared me for what it will be like to begin working after college.

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

I’m too busy singing along to my Spotify playlist!

What is a professional goal that you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

I would like to have completed my MBA in five years time.

What’s your favorite throwback jam?

Growing up as a Backstreet girl, I have to pick “I Want It That Way”.

Who is your favorite superhero? Least favorite?

Even though he’s technically not a superhero, Deadpool is too funny to pass up. Unpopular opinion, my least favorite superhero is Batman because he broods too much.

What’s your favorite 90’s show?

Rugrats!

What are you reading currently? What is your favorite book?

I’m currently reading a book called If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio.  I love any book with mystery and suspense!

Where is your happy place?

Laying on a beach in the sun, listening to the ocean.
