In December of 2019, I was offered a position as the integrated marketing intern at Burkhart Marketing. Throughout my internship journey, I learned a lot and met great people in the process. I think this experience has taught me a lot about office culture and how to resonate with different types of audiences.
Social Media
During my time here, I focused a lot on social media content writing for Burkhart. At first, this was challenging, but the more you get to know your target audience the easier it becomes to write content that resonates. I had to get a little creative and see things from the audience’s point of view. Another thing I learned was how to keep social media on brand and unified. Keeping your content/images consistent will let your viewers know who you are and what your brand is about.
Blogging
Writing blog posts was a recurring task that I really enjoyed because of the advanced knowledge I receive about marketing and advertising. I also researched our audiences heavily to ensure my content was relatable and helpful. Blogging helped me learn that blog posts are not only educational for your audience, but they also help the writer learn new things, too. Each time I wrote a new blog, my expertise just kept growing which is the goal. My knowledge of marketing has expanded, and I feel confident that blogging could definitely be a part of my future.
Final Thoughts as the Integrated Marketing Intern
All in all, this internship has truly been an enlightening experience. My knowledge about the marketing and advertising field has grown more than I could’ve hoped. Because of all I the social media and blogging skills that I’ve gained, I feel confident enough to enter the workforce as a social media manager or content writer.
