Are you feeling like your schedule has come to a halt due to the spread of COVID-19? That you just can’t find the motivation anymore? Well, you aren’t alone. Our current situation is not ideal for productivity, but today, I am going to give you some tips on how to make the best of your day and stay motivated while working remotely.
Plan Your Day
One essential part of being productive during this quarantine is scheduling my day. Before working from home, I had a schedule that I was dedicated to, and it helped me get the most out of my day. By sitting down and just planning when you’ll wake up, workout or even eat will give more structure to your day and ultimately increase your productivity.
Don’t feel you need to work more
When I get into a routine of going into the office every day, not going in anymore has made me feel almost guilty, almost like I am not doing my part. Many people, when working from home, tend to overwork because they also feel this way, and you now have extra time.
Move Your Body
Whether it’s finding workouts online or even just going for a walk it’s important to get some oxygen into your lungs. By just taking one walk a day, you’ll have more energy going forward and will not feel as sluggish as you would just laying around all day.
Have a Work Station
One bad habit that I started to develop was working from my bed. At first, it seemed like a dream that I could just wake up and start working while still laying down, but not too long after it started to decrease my productivity. By having a designated work station it will feel more like work and keep you more focused on your tasks.
Take Breaks
Whether it is taking a lunch break or just walking away from your computer for half an hour, it will seem like more of a workday. You take breaks when you are in the office, so working at home should be no different.
This is a crazy and unknown time we are all currently experiencing. It may be scary to some and hard to stay motivated when we are very uncertain about what the next steps are. But, if you follow a routine and stay productive, your overall outlook will change your bad habits you may pick up while working from home.
