The bar has been raised during the Burkhart Marketing lunch hour. Our new Account Executive, Logan, doesn’t only think outside the box at his desk—he also likes to create in the kitchen.
Logan graduated from Butler University with a Strategic Communications and Psychology degree in 2014. Sit tight and we will get to know more about Logan—from his inspirations to the number one song on his throwback playlist.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A chef. I became fascinated with food at a young age and loved watching cooking shows when I got home from school. Being able to take simple ingredients and turn them into one coherent dish has a sense of art to it that I love. Plus, you get to eat the art when you’re done!
What drew you to/kept you in advertising?
While I was at Butler I took a class with a successful advertising copywriter here in Indy who opened my eyes to the work and culture of agencies. His enthusiasm for the industry made a real impact on me, which then inspired me to intern at an agency here in town. The rest was history.
Who or what inspires you?
My mother. She’s been the most supportive person in my life and is the reason I am where I am today.
What do you feel prepared you most for life after college?
Internships, internships, internships. Taking what I learned in the classroom and using those skills in real-world applications was an invaluable experience that helped me have a smooth transition into the real world.
What is a professional goal that you hope to accomplish in the next five years?
I hope to be more involved in landing new business and continuing to grow Burkhart. The work we produce here is incredible and I want to share it with more people and businesses!
What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?
Usually, it’s about what food I want to try making next. Whether it’s an Indian dish, smoking meat or making some sort of slow-roasted taco, I’m almost always thinking about the next meal.
What’s your favorite throwback jam?
This one’s easy – “Come Sail Away” by Styx. It is my go-to sing-along and karaoke song that brightens my day whenever it comes on.
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
A majestic purple, for a couple of reasons. First off, I’m a huge Minnesota Vikings fan so I grew up in a purple-loving household. Secondly, purple has a sense of majesty to it and it’s a color that demands attention.
Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
Gary Clark Jr. Being able to play the guitar the way he does in front of a massive crowd of people would be exhilarating. I don’t think there would be anything else like it in the world.
Who is your favorite superhero? Least favorite?
My favorite would have to be Wolverine. He’s almost invincible, got those unbreakable claws, and to top it off, he has a great first name.
My least would have to be The Hulk. I mean, come on, get ahold of yourself, man.
