This new year brings a new intern to our team! We are thrilled to have Christian Cruz, a senior at Ball State University, join the Burkhart family as our Integrated Marketing & Advertising intern. He is majoring in Business Administration and is excited to grow in his business skills here at Burkhart. Keep reading to learn more about Christian.
What drew you to advertising/social media?
I am a business major and have always been fascinated by the steps involved in marketing.
Who or what inspires you?
My parents – they have always shown me that hard work pays off.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up, I wanted to be a professional basketball player in the NBA.
What do you think about when you’re alone in the car?
When I am alone in the car, I am usually singing/rapping along to my favorite songs. When I am driving, I tend to think about the tasks that need to be completed for the day, like working out, school assignments and work.

What is a professional goal that you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?
The professional goal I wish to accomplish within the next 5 years includes becoming financially stable with my own place in Colorado. I would like to work for a company in their marketing or sales division.
You can have anyone fictional character as your imaginary friend, who do you choose and why?
I would choose Bugs Bunny – this was the first choice that came to mind. He is a funny character and is a star in one of my favorite movies, Space Jam.
Would you rather travel back in time to meet your ancestors or to the future to meet your descendants? Why?
I would love to go back in time to meet my ancestors because I have always wanted to sit down and have a conversation with my great grandfather who came to this country from Europe. I would like to ask him about the hardships he faced and any advice he has for me.
If you could instantly be an expert in a subject, what would it be?
I would like to be an expert in car mechanics because if my family or friends ever came across an issue in their vehicle, I would love to be able to help them out, saving them time and money.
What are you most excited about during your time interning with Burkhart?
I am excited to meet with clients and get hands-on experience. I want to be in a work environment where I can truly learn as much as I can every day.
