There’s one more addition to #TeamBurkhart for the spring semester, Lauren Motsinger! Lauren is our Creative Intern who is currently a student at IUPUI. She is pursuing a major in Visual Communication Design and has a creative and positive outlook on everything she does. To find out more about Lauren, keep reading below!

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

Although I love anything purple (periwinkle in particular), I would want to be a brand new highlighting crayon. Basically because I like to highlight the positives whenever people or myself get down about something.

Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job?

I would rather have the perfect job! In life, you need to feel fulfilled and have a purpose. Without that drive to do better for yourself and for others, sometimes you end up feeling worthless. Having the perfect job can set you up for a happy life even if it is imperfect. (If I could have both, that would also be perfect lol)

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

I don’t own a car at the moment because I live downtown. However, when I walk around (which I do a lot) I listen to music and just enjoy the fresh air. If I think about anything it’s usually about what’s going on that day or pretty silly stuff. I let my imagination run basically.

What is your most-used emoji?

Probably the heart emoji. ❤️ I love sending love!

What is a professional goal that you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

In the next 5 years, I want to get as much experience as possible in the creative field and hopefully be able to travel for some of it. I think educating yourself on other cultures really helps in understanding people within design.

How would your friends/family describe you?

Probably goofy. I tend to laugh a lot and like to be silly. Other times, I’d say stubborn, but now I’ve gotten better at that.

Is your glass half-full or half-empty?

I don’t really look at it that way. I see it as filled completely, but not to the point of spilling over. I’m an idealist with a realistic view.

Do you have a favorite 90’s sitcom? If so, what is it?

I’m gonna be basic and say, Friends. I love that show. Especially the holiday episode.

Is there anything you wish would come back into fashion?

I love curly hair! So perms! But not crazy big, just enough volume to really make you stand out.
