Employee Spotlight: Hope Colclazier

We’ve got a new face around the office – our new Account Coordinator, Hope Colclazier! She is a recent Ball State grad who’s eager to jump in and help us help our clients. For Hope, working in advertising is an outlet for her to express her creativity and help businesses connect to their audiences.

True to form, we asked Hope some getting to know you questions to learn more about the newest member of Team Burkhart!

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

If I did not have to sleep, I would spend my extra time taking art lessons. I love to draw, fashion specifically, but I still need some practice

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

I would be the color blue – royal blue to be more specific. Royal blue can be very vibrant and bold while also being subtle and laidback. It’s not tied to just one category, and I like to think that I am the same.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A Fashion Designer

What drew you to/kept you in advertising? (How did you choose it?)

I love to be creative and have my work help a business be able to connect to the audience they are trying to attract. I also enjoy seeing what different aspects draw people of all kinds together to interact, and advertising allows me to do so.

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?

I would swap with Sophie Turner because she’s one of my favorite actresses and seems to be a really down-to-earth person.

Who or what inspires you?

My parents. They are both the most hardworking individuals that I know who always put everyone before themselves. Neither have an ounce of selfishness in their bodies and have always worked for everything they have. I would not be anywhere I am today without them.

What is your most-used emoji?

🤩

What do you feel prepared you most for life after college?

I think talking to anyone I know who had already graduated really helped me. Hearing about how they were able to prepare and see where they are now was a major factor.

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

I like to think about my future and the ideas I have for it like buying a small starter home with my fiance and our upcoming wedding.

What is a professional goal that you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

I hope to have an online boutique started that will eventually lead to me having a physical store somewhere in central Indiana.

What’s your favorite throwback jam?

I think Umbrella by Rihanna. No matter what mood I’m in, that song can make me get up and dance.

Who is your favorite superhero? Least favorite?

Batman would be my favorite because I just really enjoy all of the Dark Knight movies. My least favorite would probably be Green Arrow.

What’s your favorite 90’s show?

Mine would definitely have to be “The Nanny”. Fran Fine is all-around hilarious and a true fashion icon.

What are you reading currently? What is your favorite book?

I haven’t started it yet, but I just got Paper Towns and I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s all about. My favorite book would probably be any of the Hunger Games books. I think all of those were great!

Where is your happy place?

My happy place is definitely at home surrounded by those I love and care about, especially my dog, Hank.
