Position: Graphic Designer
Reports to: Creative Director
No Direct Reports

Burkhart Marketing is seeking a graphic designer for potential contractor, part-time, or full-time opportunities for print and digital work. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in graphic and creative design for all aspects of client marketing services including print, collateral material, logo development, typography, digital content, website and social media design. Candidate must be able to work in the Burkhart Office (schedule flexible).

Highlights:

  • Design, produce, and proof creative concepts/layouts for print and digital materials such as magazines, out of home, packaging, digital banners, and brand materials
  • Lead Designer for creative pieces from inception to delivery
  • Maintain a high level of creativity, conceptualizing and executing concepts/artwork that display graphic excellence with special attention to meeting the client’s objectives and strategies
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of graphic standards and legal requirements associated with each client
  • Create effective design solutions and accurate art files. Projects should be completed within the requested deadlines
  • Ability to build messaging in variety of styles, voices, and tones, adaptable to different target audiences, product categories, and branding initiatives
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in the projects assigned. Check all elements and requested changes before presenting to the Creative Director for review
  • Develop designs that are on strategy and reflect the brand’s personality
  • Direct and supervise photography sessions and guide outsides resources in direction of video and radio production
  • Consult with internal team members to assess needs, clarify scope of projects, and establish timelines for projects and coordinate production as needed
  • Provide accurate time and cost estimates for each creative project assigned
  • Participate in new business efforts as needed

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual communication, graphic design or related field required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience preferred (post-internship)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) required
  • iOS operating platform experience a must
  • Solid working knowledge of Dreamweaver and any widely-utilized software applications a plus
  • Understanding of printing process, photography, illustration, typography, developing and producing tactics
  • Ability to develop internet, television, and radio productions and conduct press checks preferred
  • Ability to interact professionally and responsibly with clients and internal agency team
  • Self-motived with the ability to handle multiple on-going projects and branding initiatives
  • Ability to write creative content and present creative examples in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong client-service orientation
  • Flexible to evolving responsibilities and last-minute changes
  • Ability to work independently on projects and collaborate as a strong team member

This is a unique Internship for an Agency/Client liaison who will work at the Client’s place of business. The position reports to the Account Executive (at the Agency) but directly supports the Marketing Manager (at the Client). Our client is located in Carmel, Indiana and is part of a global network of premium transportation brands. You will interact with:

  • Brand Marketing Manager, Digital Manager and Director of Marketing and Business Development
  • Graphic Designers, writers, digital strategist, media manager and client services team
